A Thrifty Feature: FashionBombDaily.com

It's been a little crazy the past 2 weeks, but I did have the pleasure to attend some Spring 13 NYFW shows which was a break from the 9-5 job! One of the shows was sprung on me at the last minute, and it happened to be on the day that I decided to wear a thrifted dress, belt & earrings. Well, luckily I looked FAB & the photographers obviously liked my style too! What was even more exciting was the fact that I was featured on FashionBombDaily.com
Head on over and check out the post...and maybe one day, you might see me featured on their "Fashion Bombshell of the Day"

A little quirky and a little chic!

A true thrifter can always appreciate a quirky piece of clothing and see the potential that it holds! That's exactly what I saw in this green and white striped blazer which reminded me of several things (lollipop, gum, amongst many other things). So to balance it out, I paired it with my FAVE navy pleated skirt and threw in my other fave colors, fuchsia & yellow. And the entire outfit sans the shoes & belt, is ALL THRFITED!!!!

All Thrift Everything Challenge: Outfit #1

Hello Fashionistas!!
While my mom was visiting a few weeks back, I was told by her that I am not allowed to shop for clothes for awhile! I do have a bad addiction especially to anything from thrift and vintage stores (doesn't help that my fave Salvation Army here in NJ has 50% off Wednesdays!!!!). So I'm taking heed to her advice, and when I did a survey of my closet I realized all the great pieces (majority thrifted) that I haven't worn yet. With that said,  I'm putting myself on a challenge for the next 2 months to wear only items from my closet AND to have at least 2 or more pieces be thrifted in my outfits!
Here is my first attempt at this challenge, and the blouse & pants happen to be thrifted (a total of no more than $5 together from the Salvation Army)...sorry but the shoes & accessories aren't but I did get a great deal on them.
stay tuned for more ALL THRIFTED outfits!

CHICAGO Store Spotlight: Salvation Army

About 2 months ago, I had the pleasure of visiting a close college friend (more like a sister) of mine that happens to live in Chicago. This was my second time visiting the Windy City and though my first time was filled with seeing more tourist sites, this time around I was determined to explore the thrift stores!!!
Well, the 1st thrift store happen to be not too far from Midway Airport (I had only been in Chi Town for an hour, and already found a thirft store) and we went to many more over the weekend, and oh, let me tell you, I was in Thrifting Heaven! For some people the smell and all the racks may be a little overwhelming, but for me, I do not mind it especially when i know hidden beneath all of that could be a designer piece of clothing for barely nothing or that item that I've been looking to add to my wardrobe! And it's also a little sentimental for me, I've been going to thrift stores since I was a little girl with my Grandma.
Well, see the details below on one of the many stores I shopped and the Luv Jones Find!

One of my favorite celebs is Solange Knowles. I think that all around she has great style, along with an awesome personality! In regards to her style, I love her knack for mixing prints & colors, and just making everything look so cool & effortless. So I decided to take a little style inspiration from her and put together a work appropriate outfit!
Enjoy!

Welcome and Enjoy!

Welcome to My Vintage Luv Jones!
Many of my friends know that I'm a lover of fashion especially vintage and thrift store finds. There's something about finding that one of a kind item that will make you stand out in the crowd. I live for the times when you leave your local Salvation Army with a bag full of clothes that only cost $20-$30 dollars (I am a serious budget shopper)! So, I decided to start this blog to share my love of these precious finds with other fashion lovers; show you how to style vintage and thrift store pieces with items from your current closet (since I am a Wardrobe Stylist & Image Consultant); and let you in on some of my fave stores...amongst many other fashionable topics!!!!
