A Thrifty Feature: FashionBombDaily.com

It's been a little crazy the past 2 weeks, but I did have the pleasure to attend some Spring 13 NYFW shows which was a break from the 9-5 job! One of the shows was sprung on me at the last minute, and it happened to be on the day that I decided to wear a thrifted dress, belt & earrings. Well, luckily I looked FAB & the photographers obviously liked my style too! What was even more exciting was the fact that I was featured on FashionBombDaily.com
Head on over and check out the post...and maybe one day, you might see me featured on their "Fashion Bombshell of the Day"

A little quirky and a little chic!

A true thrifter can always appreciate a quirky piece of clothing and see the potential that it holds! That's exactly what I saw in this green and white striped blazer which reminded me of several things (lollipop, gum, amongst many other things). So to balance it out, I paired it with my FAVE navy pleated skirt and threw in my other fave colors, fuchsia & yellow. And the entire outfit sans the shoes & belt, is ALL THRFITED!!!!

Striking in Stripes

(Dress-Taylor, avail at Lord & Taylor; Pumps- Jessica Simpson; Necklace & Bangles- H&M; Earrings- Ebay)

With the insanely hot weather that we've been experiencing lately, it has also provided a challenge in what to wear to work (especially, when you have a conservative dress code...a little exposure of the shoulders never hurt anyone!).
So, with me being the bargain hunter that I am, I could not pass up this strinkingly striped dress by Taylor (sadly, it's not vintage or thrifted, but still FAB & over 50% off the orig price). Once I saw it, I started to visualize how I would style it...my Jessica Simpson Royal Blue suede pumps would be perfect. But I'm not a fan of being matchy matchy so I had to throw in something unexpected....so in comes the neon accessories (oh how i am right on trend with the stripes & neon, and still somewhat work appropriate..a pashmina will cover those pesky arms while i am inside the office).
Enjoy :)

In the Jungle

(Dress- Thrifted; Earrings- Ebay; Belt- Strawberry; Bangles- Forever 21; Pumps-Boutique 9; Lipstick-CoverGirl Queen Collection)

As an avid thrifter (or better yet addictive thrifter), I have many thrifted pieces of clothing that seem to get lost in my closet just like the item above. I bought this dress awhile ago and never got around to wearing it until a couple of my friends and I decided to have a "Totally 80's" theme day.
I could have easily have went the route of brights, or neon colors, but I decided to think outside of the box, and go with what a working woman (hopefully in the fashion industry) would have worn. I'm sure someone out there wore this dress back in the 80's and if not, at least I would have worn it (with my collar popped, shoulder pads & red lipstick!)
 Enjoy!

Welcome and Enjoy!

Welcome to My Vintage Luv Jones!
Many of my friends know that I'm a lover of fashion especially vintage and thrift store finds. There's something about finding that one of a kind item that will make you stand out in the crowd. I live for the times when you leave your local Salvation Army with a bag full of clothes that only cost $20-$30 dollars (I am a serious budget shopper)! So, I decided to start this blog to share my love of these precious finds with other fashion lovers; show you how to style vintage and thrift store pieces with items from your current closet (since I am a Wardrobe Stylist & Image Consultant); and let you in on some of my fave stores...amongst many other fashionable topics!!!!
